Description: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the MeriLiFE: Massive Tree Plantation Drive 2023 as a crucial initiative to combat climate change and promote afforestation. In this endeavor, AICTE aims to plant one crore trees across the nation. A Webinar dated 20-07-2023 and addressed by Dr. Neetu Bhagat – Deputy Director at AICTE on “MeriLiFE: Massive Tree Plantation Drive 2023” was attended by our faculty members. In conjuction with the same, the pledge link was sent to all the staff members and our MMS students, which was well appreciated and active participation was seen by very high pledge registrations.

In keeping with our commitment to the above alongwith environmental sustainability and ecological preservation, Lala Lajpatrai Institute of Management (LLIM) organized a Tree Plantation Drive on 31-07-2023. The event aimed to contribute to the restoration of the local ecosystem, enhance the green cover on campus, and raise awareness about the importance of trees in mitigating climate change. It also intended in encouraging students, faculty, and staff to actively participate in environmental conservation initiatives.

The participants actively engaged in the plantation process, digging holes, placing the saplings, and backfilling the soil to provide a stable base for growth.

The Tree Plantation Drive at LLIM proved to be a resounding success. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff members of LLIM who took part in the tree plantation activities, demonstrating their commitment to environmental conservation plus fostered a sense of responsibility among the participants towards safeguarding our planet. It is hoped that the event’s impact will inspire continued efforts towards sustainable practices and eco-friendly initiatives in the future.
