Faculty Development Programme

To expose members of faculty to the latest developments in the business & to promote their skills & knowledge, the institute offers sponsorship to the members of faculty for attending national level /state level conferences/seminars /workshops organized by other institutes/universities.

 

The institute has a strong policy and programme for faculty improvement. There is a proper criteria for deputing our faculty members for various Faculty Development Programmes.

2019 – Innovative Pedagogy and Inputs for Quality Research

A Faculty Development Programme under the theme “Innovative Pedagogy and Inputs for Quality Research” was organized on 19th March, 2019 from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. in Lala Lajpatrai Institute of Management – Seminar Hall.

 

This Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was aimed at strengthening the skillset needed for quality teaching and research and improving the ability of faculty to identify, communicate, and implement the intended course outcome, content, and experiences. Post registration and breakfast, the event was inaugurated by Dr.V.B. Angadi, Director, Lala Lajpatrai Institute of Management. The opening expert speaker for the FDP 2019, Shri Sharu S.Rangnekar, and Retd. MD & Celebrated Author explained the ‘New Frontiers in Management”. Dr. Svetlana Tatuskar, Senior Researcher & Academician, enlightened the audience on ‘Research Paradigms’. Prof. David Selvenathan (Certified NLP Practitioner Practitioner) conducted a workshop on ‘Delivering Excellence through Neuro Linguistic Programming’ which was followed by sumptuous lunch. The workshop on ‘Theatre Techniques and Inspired Teaching’ was conducted by Ms. Merine John, DGM CSR Essar Foundation and the two Theatre Exponents Prof.Gayatri Magi and Prof.Himanshu Vaidya .

 

The audience consisted of 20 members from various Graduation Colleges and Post-Graduation Institutes. Prof.Anusha Patil, the FDP Convener, proposed the vote of thanks.

 

The FDP was appreciated by all the participants and it was a great success.

2019 – “Emerging Business Environment, Trends in Management & Applied Research”

Lala Lajpatrai Institute of Management (LLIM) organized a faculty development programme (FDP) on 09th March, 2019, titled ‘Emerging Business Environment, Trends in Management & Applied Research.’ The theme of this FDP was to create a strong desire for the up-gradation of knowledge of the teachers. The programme was organized with the goal of motivating the faculty members in order to sharpen their skills and become a roal model for students. Realizing the significant role of research, in teaching and learning, Lala Lajpatrai Institute of Management has conducted the FDP focusing on Emerging Business Environment, Trends in Management & Applied Research. The occasion was graced by Dr. V.B. Angadi, the Director of the Institute.


Over 22 faculty members from various Graduate & Post Graduate Institutes& Research Scholars participated in the programme. The expert speakers on the occasion were:


Dr. Stephen D’Silva- Former Director, JBIMS. The Topic covered by Dr. D’Silva was on “Micro-Prospective in relationship to Disruptive Impact on Business Strategies”.


Mr. Sushant Singh- Assistant Vice President, AGS Transact Technologies Ltd. The Topic covered by Mr. Singh was “Adoption of Advanced Technology in Financial Sector with special reference to Digital Infrastructure and Digital Service Providers”.


Dr. Paritosh Basu- Senior Professor, NMIMS. The Topic covered by Dr. Basu was on a Macro Prospective focusing on Emerging Scenario of Business Environment and its repercussions on Business Management, Use of Technology and Research”.


The organizing committee included Prof. Vikas Sharma & Prof. Gagan Bhatia. The program concluded with valedictory address and distribution of participation certificates by Director Dr. Angadi &vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Vikas Sharma, the FDP convener.

2018 – “Effective Teaching & Research Engagement”

A Faculty Development Programme under the theme “Effective Teaching & Research Engagement” was organized on 22nd February 2018 from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. in Lala Lajpatrai Institute of Management – Seminar Hall.


The main aim of the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was to enhance effectiveness of teaching faculty in learning and research. Also, it aimed at equipping the faculty with the latest signature pedagogies used in the management education and preparing faculty for their role as motivators, facilitators, mentor and guide for helping students in achieving excellence. In his inaugural address Dr. Sunil Shete (Former Jt.Director of Higher Education, Pune Division, and Pune) shared his knowledge about ‘Drafting a Good Research Proposal’. Dr. Parvathi Venkatesh Director, Mulund College of Commerce delivered a talk on ‘Curriculum Development and Signature Pedagogies. Dr.Barnana Sarkar (Academician and Corporate Trainer) shared her views on the topic ‘Effective Communication and Behavioural Skills ’. Dr. V.B.Angadi, Director, LLIM discussed ‘Research Engagement’ where he advised all to use research studies in classrooms to engage the students.
The participants feedback was appreciative of the Programme.

Sister Deepa- Faculty member of Brahma Kumari’s business and industry wing and has conducted several workshops and programs and is also a Trainer for Business and Industry Wing Faculties. The Topics covered by Siter Deepa was Stress Management and Art of Balance.
