Description
| In observance of Anti-Ragging Day, the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Centre for Youth (C4Y), the UGC National Anti-Ragging Monitoring Agency, have encouraged higher educational institutions to conduct various awareness and sensitisation activities to promote a safe, respectful, and ragging-free campus environment. The awareness campaign is observed from 12 August to 18 August, with the hashtag #YaARIYouthAgainstRagging being promoted across awareness activities and social media campaigns. Anti-Ragging Day Celebration at LLIM As part of the Anti-Ragging awareness initiative, LLIM celebrated Anti-Ragging Day on 17 August 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The programme focused on creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of ragging and the importance of maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful educational environment. A Poster Making Competition on the theme of Anti-Ragging was organised as the main activity. A total of 39 Second year MMS students actively participated in the competition. The students expressed their understanding and concerns regarding ragging through creative posters, illustrations, slogans, and awareness messages. The posters prepared by the students conveyed different and meaningful messages highlighting the negative consequences of ragging and encouraging students to stand against such practices. Through their creative work, students emphasised themes such as respect for fellow students, kindness, dignity, equality, friendship, responsible behaviour, and the importance of maintaining a ragging-free campus. Key Outcomes The Anti-Ragging Day activity at LLIM achieved the following objectives:
Conclusion The celebration of Anti-Ragging Day at LLIM on 17 August 2026 was a meaningful awareness initiative. The Poster Making Competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 39 students, who creatively conveyed strong messages against ragging. The activity not only showcased students’ creativity but also reinforced the importance of a respectful, safe, and inclusive campus environment.
