Description

The Department of Marketing of Lala Lajpatrai Institute of Management (LLIM) conducted a two-day creative marketing workshop titled “Sell the Unsellable” on 13th and 14th November, 2025. The event aimed at enhancing students’ creativity, communication, and strategic thinking by challenging them to market products, emotions, and ideas that are typically considered impossible to sell.

The competition was conducted in three levels across two days.
In Level 1, 17 teams participated by picking random chits containing unusual and unsellable objects, such as half-eaten bread, coffee-stained tissues, a cockroach in a jar, and old tickets. They were given 20 mins to prepare and 2 mins to present a sales pitch, creatively convincing the audience to “buy” these impossible items.
The top 10 teams advanced to Level 2, where they were assigned various emotions and were required to build innovative business ideas around them. This round encouraged them to think deeply about human psychology and translate emotions into tangible, marketable concepts. The top 5 teams progressed to Level 3, where the Grand Finale was held on 14th November. Here, all finalists were given the same extraordinary and impossible product (Mist) that cannot ordinarily be bought or sold. Teams developed complete marketing campaigns, showcasing branding strategies, creative storytelling, and persuasive presentation skills.

Students participated with great enthusiasm, demonstrating out-of-the-box thinking and impressive communication abilities across all rounds. They appreciated the opportunity to apply classroom concepts in a fun, challenging, and highly engaging format.

Overall, “Sell the Unsellable” was a tremendous success, providing students with a unique platform to explore creativity while strengthening their marketing instincts and confidence.
