Description of the Technique:

Students were divided into groups and asked to creatively enact theoretical concepts from the fundamentals of marketing. This included representing the evolution of marketing using formats such as street plays, drama, rap songs, puppet shows, or poetry (shayari). The purpose was to enhance their understanding of abstract marketing theories through dramatized, practical representation and storytelling, thereby improving conceptual clarity, communication, and team collaboration.

Tools / Resources Used:

  • Costumes and props (as needed for enactments)
  • Classroom or open stage for performance
  • Audio systems for background music or narration
  • Mobile phones for recording and reflection

Business Model Canvas Creation through Sector-Based Group Activity

Description of the Technique (if any):

To help students understand the concept of business models, each group was assigned a specific sector (e.g., healthcare, education, retail). The students had to come up with a product or service idea within that sector and develop a business model around it. Using chart papers and sticky notes, they collaboratively mapped out different blocks of the business model canvas — such as value propositions, customer segments, revenue streams, channels, and cost structure — and filled them with relevant inputs. This hands-on approach enabled students to understand the practical components of strategy formulation and develop a strategic mindset.

Tools / Resources Used:

  • Business Model Canvas framework (projected for reference)
  • Chart papers, markers, sticky notes
  • Sector-specific research materials (online/offline)
  • Reference examples of successful business models
  • Classroom space conducive to group collaboration
