World Environment Day Celebration under activities for mass mobilization on Mission LiFE

As per the directive issued by the AICTE, for major outreach and advocacy activities for mass mobilization on Mission LiFE,

In the runup to World Environment Day on 5th June, 2023, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change envisages that all ministries/Departments/Organisations/State Governments and UTs may organise major outreach and advocacy activities for mass mobilization on Mission LiFE. An illustrative list of activities that can be considered by the HEIs, is at Annexure.

In this context, a review meeting was taken by the Cabinet Secretary on 28.04.2023, wherein it was decided inter-alia to lay emphasis on utilising the network of Institutions at grassroot level for creating awareness about the mission and inculcating sustainable consumption behaviour. Also, a virtual meeting was organised by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change on 02.05.2023 regarding the reporting and monitoring mechanism of the proposed activities starting from the month of May, 2023 till 5th June, 2023.

Topic: World Environment Day Celebration under activities for mass mobilization on Mission LiFE.

Description: Objective: LLIM aim to engage the staff in a meaningful activity that not only educates them about the importance of protecting the environment but also empowers them to take positive actions in their daily lives.

Proposed Activity: Procurement of Jute bags with LLIM name printed on it on the front side and the Theme message printed on the back side (coloured print of the design attached) from a vendor at Rs. 70 per bag. A Google form will be circulated asking for orders by the teaching as well as non-teaching staff. We are confident that we can get the orders for 50 bags approximately, the cost of which will be borne by the staff as per their order size. This activity could be classified under the theme of Say no to single use plastic as mentioned on the Mission LiFE Portal.

Promotion and Publicity: The event could be photographed and could be used as a promotional material for social media platforms which will further propagate the essence of this event as per the requirements of AICTE.
