National Seminar on Integrated approach to stockholders 12th Oct 2019

Lala Lajpatrai Institute of Management (LLIM), Mumbai had organized the National Seminar on “Marketing to Millennials – Strategies & Challenges” on 16th March, 2019 in the institute auditorium.


As the Critical analysis of factors contributing to investor’s decision is very much essential not only from the point of view of academics but also from policy makers, individual and corporate investors. This kind of academic exercise is all the more relevant in respect of investment in stock market. The literature witnesses a rapid rise in studies dealing with determinants of investor’s decision. These studies encompass empirical, technical and fundamental factors affecting investors’ decision. Interestingly, recent years have witnessed increasing emphasis on psychological factors. Also, increasing number of studies also stress upon integrated approach to explain investor’s decision. Against this background, LLIM organized a National Seminar on “Integrated Approach to Stockholders Behavior and Factors Affecting Investment Decisions. Eminent speakers of varied backgrounds with industry and domain experience shared their expertise, experience, knowledge and discussed the approach and factors considered while making investment decisions. Dr. Aditya Srinivas, COO & Chief Economist at BSE Brokers Forum delivered the Inaugural Address and discussed about the volatility in stock market and spoke about investment decision using psychology an investor should analyze the economic data. Mr. Vivek Sharma, Senior Domain Specialist Dun and Bradstreet Information Services Pvt Ltd, delivered a key note address on the study of the influence of psychology in the behavior of investors and how behavior is important and why we need to monitor our own behavior. Mr. Hitesh Fatani, Assistant Manager- Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP, emphasized more on micro and macro factors like interest rate, GDP, Government policies and the impact of it on Indian Stock market. Mr Nitesh Buddhadev CEO- Nimit Wealth Management spoke about the steps an investor should consider while investing in Stock market and also spoke about behavioral finance with some live examples.Mr. Nikhil Pathak, Deputy Vice President- Validus Wealth, emphasized more on investor’s behavior by focusing on cases wherein investors go wrong in their investment decisions in spite of having too much information and how they could rectify those mistakes.


Mr. Jatin Sanghavi, Director- Infinity Institute of Capital Markets spoke on Technical analysis as a tool for wealth creation and how studying and understanding various charts can help investors in terms of investment. Mr. Darshan Shah, Assistant Manager Dun and Bradstreet Information Services Pvt Ltd, spoke on the importance of fundamental analysis while investing in stock market. Valedictory session was concluded with vote of thanks by the Seminar Coordinator Prof. Vikas Sharma.
